Comfort Food to Share at the Table

Some meals are better when the table can try a little of everything. At Tamix Oaxaca, the menu has several dishes that make sense for passing, tasting, and building a shared meal without needing a special occasion.

    Start With a Centerpiece

Tlayudas are layered with asiento, black bean paste, cabbage, tomato, avocado, Oaxacan cheese, and a meat choice listed as tasajo, cecina, or chorizo. The Molcajete is described as a traditional platter served in a hot stone bowl with grilled meats, cactus, onions, and house salsa.

    Add Smaller Pieces

Quesadillas Fritas are listed as three handmade corn empanada-style quesadillas. Sopes are listed as two handmade sopes with black beans, lettuce, fresh cheese, and sour cream. Memelas are listed as two pieces with asiento, black beans, and fresh cheese, with an option for quesillo.

    Bring in Something Hearty

For guests who want a full plate, the Oaxacan Plates section includes Caldo Mixe, Caldo de Res, Amarillo de Pollo, Nopal Tamix, huaraches, and other options. Breakfast guests can look at chilaquiles or omelettes, while the Fast Food section covers tacos, burritos, tortas, and more.

    Balance the Table

A shared order works best when it includes different textures: one layered dish, one saucy or broth-based plate, one handheld item, and drinks. Use the menu as the source of truth, and ask the restaurant about current availability when planning for a group.
